Brian Martie - ISC Hall of Fame Biography

According to Rod Peterson, sponsor, manager and ISC Hall of Fame member , Brian Martie “was the best clutch hitter I ever had.”  “Once he came with The Farm, we started to win world championships.”

Brian’s stats and accomplishments tell it all.  Brian played in 15-conseutive ISC World Tournaments from 1986 through 2000 and had an impressive accumulative batting average right at .300 with 8-home runs, a .476 slugging average and a .344 on base average.  He made the ISC All-World teams 6-times.

He played for Bloomington Hearts and Decatur Pride before his final 6-years with the Farm Tavern team from Madison, WI.

Further comments from Rod Peterson include, “Easy to manage.  Did everything I asked.  The bigger the game the better he hit.  The better the pitching, the better he hit.”   Strong praise coming from a manager with 3-ISC World titles under his belt.

A Bloomington native, Brian was born and raised there.  He grew up on softball diamonds watching his dad play in Carbondale, IL.  He played both baseball and basketball at Greenville (IL) College and began his fastball career in Coffeen, IL.
