Lou M. Ferrero

Lou M. Ferrero (deceased), Hanford CA

Lou Ferrero, born in Piossasco (close to Torino), Italy in 1922, immigrated with his family to Lindsey CA and later moved to Hanford CA. Graduating from high school in 1941, be commenced his fastball career with the Hanford CA Kings until he was drafted into the US Air Force in 1943. Following his discharge in 1945, he resumed his career with the Kings who won the 1947 ASA Tournament held in Stockton CA. When the National Softball Congress (NSC) and International Softball League (ISL) held separate championships in the late 40s/early 50s, Lou played on three championship teams – Taft CA Merchants (1948); Hanford CA Kings (1949) and Fresno CA Hoak Packers (1952)and three finalists – Hanford (1950 and 1951) and Dinuba CA Condors (1954). Lou retired from the Hanford CA Kings in 1955.
