Randall Burnside Sr. By: Amy Mullin ( daughter)
Randy’s softball career started at an early age as a bat boy, with his dad’s softball team. His dad has always taught him to enjoy and have fun with the game of softball. As Randy grew, his desire was to compete at the highest level. While in high school, Randy would play softball with his dad’s team in the summer months.
After high school, Randy played with the top local teams. In 1983, Coach Tom Wagner asked Randy to try out for Pay n Pak out of Seattle Washington. Randy credits Tom for molding his talents to compete at a world class level. Randy had always wanted to compete in world and national championships, never realizing the success that would follow.
Randy played in 12 ISC championships, winning six times. Finishing runner-up twice, and third place twice. His individual honors include: two first team All World Honors, two second team All World Honors; and in 1989, took top honor of Most Valuable Player.
“ I was blessed to be coached by the Very Best, Tom Wagner, Russ Boyce, Gale Kurtz and my Dad. I got to play with the Very Best, Bill Boyer, Jimmy Moore, Chad Corcoran, Marty Keraghan, Tim Wahl, Mark Sorensen, Paul Migan and so many others. To play with these guys was truly an honor and I am very thankful for the honor bestowed on me now.” Randy Burnside
Randy resides in Tumwater Washington with his wife, childhood sweetheart Susen of 27 years. Their children Amy, Randy Jr. and Todd live nearby.
