The annual ISC Boys U19 Tournament, typically held on the final weekend of
the ISC Men's World Tournament, has been cancelled for 2009 for the
following reasons.

* There are insufficient US U19 teams in existence to get any firm
commitments.

* With the ISC World Tournament shortened to 8-days and ending on a
Friday, there isn't sufficient time to conduct the tournament without having
to begin on Thursday morning and teams having to arrive on Wednesday.

* With the ISC World Tournament falling on its latest possible
dates in 2009, many schools have already begun the school year by the dates
we would normally conduct this tournament.

* ISC Developmental VP, Wayne Fisher has some work conflicts during
this time frame and his availability to organize and conduct is
questionable.

The ISC deeply regrets this decision but the factors above make it almost
impossible to stage this 4-team tournament in 2009. We are planning to
resurrect it in 2010.
