CARROL FORBES FOUNDATION
BACKGROUND, ELIGIBILITY AND CRITERIA
Background
The
Carrol Forbes Foundation, established in 1995 in
memory of ISC Founder Carrol Forbes (1909-1982), has approved
funding for the ISC Scholarship program with funding originating from the
annual earnings of the Foundation.
Eligibility
Applicants
for a scholarship may be any softball player who has participated in an ISC
Youth Development sanctioned tournament or event, has
completed their secondary/high school education and are continuing their
academic career at a recognized post-secondary institution.
Criteria
The
recipient will be chosen based on applicants’ responses to their academic plans
and career ambitions, their commitment to softball and letters from school and
softball references.
Timing
Application
deadline, via e-mail to csmith2@elp.rr.com, is November 15. Applications will be reviewed by the Carrol Forbes Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee
before the end of the year, and the recipient will be informed. Scholarship
payment will be provided early the following year.

REQUIREMENTS
Use a word-processor/computer to provide responses to the following,
with a range of
100 - 200 words for each of the following four (4)
sections for the applicant’s:
(1) Plans for post-secondary
education
(2) Career ambitions
(3) Commitment to ISC affiliated softball
(fastball) team/association
(4) Initiatives undertaken to
finance cost of education
