Midland, Mich. Explorers pitcher, Doug Gillis, has become their iron man since taking over the pitching reins three years ago. Gillis hurled all five games (3-2 record, 2.60 ERA in 34.5 innings) in leading the Explorers to a fifth place finish in the '99 ISC World Tournament. Last season, Gillis was a second team All-World performer with a 5-2 record; guiding the Explorers to a fourth place finish at Kimberly, Wisc.
