ANAHEIM HILLS, CA - Following the untimely death of popular International Softball Congress president Bob Welby, the ISC Board of Directors are busy filling out its Executive Committee slate. The Executive Committee first elected Canadian Vice President Mike Goodridge as is chairman, leaving a vacancy. The Board of Directors recently elected Canada West Area Commissioner Ferdi Nelissen as the new Canadian Vice President. His term will run through the 2001 ISC World Tournament in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. EC chair Goodridge is now busily conducting nominations and election of an ISC president to fill out Welby's two-year term. Nelissen, a resident of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, has been a very effective area commissioner, overseeing the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba and the state of North Dakota. He is also chairman of the very important ISC Rules Committee. The announcement of the new ISC President will be made within a week. M.D. Stark |
