| January 9, 2000 USA Softball names Men's National Team to compete at 2000 ISF World Championship OKLAHOMA CITY, OK-- The Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA)/USA Softball has announced its USA Softball Men's National Team that will represent the USA at the 2000 ISF Men's World Championships this summer in South Africa. Nine of the fifteen players from the 1999 silver medal winning Pan Am team are back in 2000 - David Boys (Decatur, Ill.); Chris DeLarwelle (Appleton, Wis.); Anthony Farinacci (El Paso, Texas); Brian Martie (Bloomington, Ill.); Doug Middleton (Blue Springs, Mo.); Thomas Montgomery (Grand Forks, N.D.); Shawn Rychcik (Salamanca, NY); Tim Wahl (Grayland, Wash.) and Michael White (Sioux City, Iowa). Other players with international experience are Jason Hanson (Seattle, Wash.); Bill Hillhouse (Salt Lake City, Utah); Mike Larabee (Kent,Wash.); Pete Meredith (Salt Lake City, Utah); Trent Rubley (Largo, Fla.) and Mike Schwieger (Overland Park, Kan.). Kyle Magnusson (Salt Lake City, Utah) and John Huebner (Rhinelander, Wis.) will be making their first appearance in international competition. Coaches named include head coach John Becker, Holmen, Wis., assistant coach Tim Lyons and assistant coach Rodney Gray. The USA last won the ISF World Championship in 1988.
