ISC Information Officer Appointed |
| October 4, 2001 It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Gordon Wise to a newly created position; ISC Information Officer. Most of you know Gordie from his years of service as Commissioner for the Ohio Fastball Conference where he served from 1984 to 2000. This appointment is being made with the approval of the ISC Executive Committee and Gordie becomes a Commissioner At Large. This new position Gordie assumes is actually three separate responsibilities. As Information Officer, it will be his responsibility to distribute ISC news and information to appropriate web sites, e-mail mailing lists, publications and other media outlets. He will also work closely with Al Doran on appropriate reciprocal links on our web site to help promote the ISC and male fastpitch softball via the Internet. A second duty will be that of ISC Writer, a position we desperately need and one that hasn't been fully staffed for over a year. Gordie will write timely and newsworthy articles for distribution and web site posting. The third duty is that of ISC Parliamentarian at our Board of Director meetings. Gordie is knowledgeable with Robert's Rules of Order so we are assured of both expertise and consistency in the application of proper parliamentary process in our meetings. For those of you not familiar with Gordie's background, he is a retired professor of Marketing at Wright State University in Dayton, OH with a strong passion for fastpitch softball. He is a student of the game. Gordie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the ISC and over the years, has demonstrated a unique ability to be both a calming influence and a voice of reason in our meetings.
