1997 INTERNATIONAL SOFTBALL CONGRESS WORLD TOURNAMENT - VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA

Some of the more than 100,000 fans that attended this event enjoy the view from center field at Royal Athletic Park.

Perfect weather and great FastPitch competition helped make this one of the most successful tournaments in ISC history.

Crowds like this are nothing new to the ISC World Tournament.  While the view from center field may be spectacular – it does little to show the overall picture of all of the activities and excitement that go into making this event a truly “World Class” sports event.

What  does the potential of crowds such as this mean to you – a potential host city ?

ROOM NIGHTS:  tourism dollars for the area Hotel/Motel community.

CONCESSIONS:  all of these people will be on the tournament grounds for hours each day – this means concession revenues.

SOUVENIRS:   who can go to an event such as this and not go away with some kind of souvenir – this means souvenir revenues.

TICKET SALES:  these people are for the most part – your paying customers.

As this and the other pictures in this booklet point out – this is not just another softball tournament.

With proper planning and preparation on your part – your city could become one more city that has experienced the “Best Kept Secret in Sports”.

This event, which can and will bring millions in tourism related revenues to your area can become a reality -  the first step is to contact the INTERNATIONAL SOFTBALL CONGRESS  and find out more about how you can bring this event to your area.

Competitive bids are received for this event  Bidders are allotted 30 minutes to make their presentation and the ISC Board of Directors votes to award the ISC World Tournament .

The bidding process is conducted during the annual ISC World Tournament, which is held in August.  Bids are awarded for tournaments two years in advance.
