USA SOFTBALL SEARCHING FOR PLAYERS AND COACHES FOR
THE 2001 JUNIOR MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM THAT WILL COMPETE AT THE
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN AUSTRALIA
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK---The Amateur Softball Association/USA Softball is looking for boys fast pitch players who would be interested in trying out for the 2001 USA Softball Junior Men's National Team. This team will compete at the 2001 International Softball Federation (ISF) Junior Men's World Championship in Australia in April.
Interested players must be a USA citizen and 18 years old or younger as of December 31, 2000. Players must attend a four day selection camp December 26-29, 2000 in San Diego, Calif.
Once selected, players will be required to attend a weekend training camp in March, 2001. Due to the date of the championships, players selected for the team will miss at least three weeks of school during the month of April 2001.
Prior to completing an application form for this camp, players should discuss this carefully with their parents, their high school coaches and their schools principal and academic counselors.
Interested individuals should print an application and return to the ASA National Office by March 31, 2000.
USA Softball is also looking for boys fast pitch coaches who would be interested in coaching the 2001 USA Softball Junior Men's National Team.
Coaches would also be required to attend a weekend training camp in March, 2001 and would be required to miss at least three weeks of work during the month of April 2001.
Interested coaches should print an application and return to the ASA National Office by March 31, 2000.
