Billy Smith, Northeast Area ISC Commissioner, is announcing TWO separate tournaments which will qualify teams from the states of New York, Connecticut, Vermont, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island for international competition.
The qualifying tournament for an automatic berth in the 2005 ISC World Tournament will be held in Middletown, New York.
The dates will be the weekend of June 18 – 19.
Entry fee is $250 - - payable to Billy Smith.
Deadline for entry is June 1, 2005.
Smith notes that the Broken Bow Spirit from Amsterdam, NY will have an automatic berth for the 2005 World Tournament since they are the reigning ISC World Champions (provided that they return a minimum of nine rostered players from their 2004 team).
The ISC World Tournament will be held in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, August 12 – 20.
A second qualifying tournament for teams seeking a berth in the ISC – II Tournament of Champions will be held over the weekend of May 21 – 22. Eligibility rules for ISC – II competition can be found on the ISC website at www.iscfastpitch.com
Location will be Onondaga Lake Park in Liverpool, N.Y. (near Syracuse, N.Y.)
Entry fee will be $250 - - payable to either Billy Smith, ISC Commissioner, or to Chuck Smith, ISC Deputy Commissioner.
Deadline for entry is May 1, 2005.
The winner will represent the Northeast Area at the ISC – II Tournament of Champions to be held in Chippewa Falls, Wis., August 14 – 19.
The tournament format will be Round Robin unless there are more than 10 teams entered, in which case a Double Elimination format will be used.
A packet with directions, roster forms, hotel information, etc. will be sent to each team who enters either qualifying event.
