| The ISC Male Developmental Fastball program announces the
2002 ISC Junior Men's 23 & Under North American Fastball Tourney has been awarded to the Winkler Minor Softball Association from
Winkler, Manitoba, Canada; the tournament will be held
July 19 - 21, 2002. Contact information for Tournament Director Cheryl Wiens of the WMSA is listed below. This marks the first time the ISC Junior Men's Tournament has been held in Canada. In recent years, the 23 & Under has been held in Wisconsin, Illinois, Utah, Iowa, Michigan, and Minnesota. ISC Development Vice-President Wayne Fisher is excited about the Winkler site and the outstanding host organization. "Winkler has all of the ingredients for a highly successful tournament next summer," stated Fisher. "Outstanding facilities, strategic geographic location, excellent motel accommodations, a large and experienced volunteer base, strong local support with sponsorship and advertising, and Western Canadian championships hosting experience constitute all of the necessary components to make this a very memorable tournament, indeed." Additionally, for U.S. teams, there will be the added bonus of a very favorable currency exchange rate, which will make lodging, transportation, and food more affordable.
