(A continuing series of announcements of qualifying tournaments for the first-ever
ISC II tournament to be held in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, August 13 17)
ATTENTION, MEN'S FASTPITCH SOFTBALL TEAMS IN THE NEW YORK-PENNSYLVANIA-NEW ENGLAND AREA!!!!!
International Softball Congress Commissioner Billy Smith is inviting men's fastpitch softball teams to plan a weekend in beautiful Elkland, Pennsylvania over the weekend of June 7 June 9.
That's the weekend when a team from the New York Pennsylvania New England area will qualify to compete in the first-in-history ISC II tournament when it is played August 13 17 in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario.
Commissioner Smith emphasizes that the ISC II qualifier is restricted to those teams and players who meet the restrictions for competing in the ISC II tournament and that no "major" pitchers or players will be allowed to participate. Check with Smith or consult the ISC website for specific eligibility rules.
There will be three fields available for the tournament. It is motorhome accessible. Plenty of hotels within 25 minutes of the ballpark, and there are campsites available in nearby Wellsboro, Pa.
The entry fee of $250 should be made payable to William A. Smith, III.
All teams intending to compete in this event must submit an entry form and a roster to Smith in time to be received by the deadline of May 15, 2002.
Format for the tournament will be round robin. Commissioner Smith is planning for a field of at least 10 12 teams in this unique event.
So round 'em up and get 'em headed for a brand-new event which will give your team a shot at the newest international competition on the planet.
