International Softball Congress Area Commissioner for the great Southeast, Robert Gray, has announced the dates and location for the ISC Area Tournament and the qualifier for the ISC II tournament. Beautiful Lagoon Park Softball Complex in Montgomery, Alabama, will be the site and the weekend of June 7, 8, and 9 will be the dates when the cream of the crop of men's fastpitch softball teams from the Southeastern U.S. gather to compete for the automatic berths in both the International Softball Congress World Tournament and the ISC II tournament. The format for the event will be Round Robin. Each team entering is guaranteed playing at least four games. Entry fee is $150, payable to "Blue and Gray Softball Association". Game balls (Worth) will be furnished by the tournament. Deadline for entry is May 30, 2002. A maximum of 30 teams will be accepted for the event. The winner of the tournament will get the Southeast Area's automatic berth in the I.S.C. World Tournament set for Kitchener/Waterloo, Ontario, August 9 17. The highest finishing team eligible for competition in the first-ever ISC II Tournament, to be played in Kitchener, Ontario, August 13 17 will receive an automatic berth in that tournament. Teams which plan to compete for the berth in the ISC II Tournament should become familiar with the eligibility rules for the ISC II.
