FIELD FOR I.S.C. WORLD TOURNAMENT AND I.S.C. II NEARS COMPLETION

Two Ontario cities - - - two international fastball tournaments - - - and just one month until the first pitches are thrown - - - - - the countdown continues for the twin events set for Kitchener/Waterloo, Ontario beginning Friday, August 9.

One of the events is being contested for the 56th time; the other is a brand-new entrant on the international sports scene.

The field for the 40-team INTERNATIONAL SOFTBALL CONGRESS WORLD TOURNAMENT (August 9 - 17) is filling rapidly as Travel League Championships are being determined and Area Tournaments are being played. Contestants will play a round robin format in eight pools of five teams each with the top two teams from each pool advancing to a playoff for the world championship.

As of this date, the following teams (with the states from which they hail) have already qualified for the “big show” - - the premier men’s fastpitch tournament in the world each season:

Other teams will be added as Area Tournaments are concluded during the course of the next three weeks. The field for the World Tournament will be updated as other teams qualify.


The field is complete for the inaugural ISC II tournament which will be contested August 13 - 17.

Twenty teams will slug it out in four pools of five teams each prior to a playoff for the ISC II championship.
