International Softball Congress Western Vice President Chris Santos has announced the appointment of two Player Representatives from the Western Region.
Aaron Owens and Jerry Santos have assumed these official positions of responsibility. They will represent player interests and concerns as the ISC continues its efforts at including players in development of policies affecting the organization and the game of fastball.
Aaron Owens (Ao4si@aol.com) has a rich background as a fastball player with stints playing for the El Cajon Rangers, the Vista Bombers, Lakewood Jets, Long Beach Painters, SLC Page Brake, Houston HIS, and the So Cal Bucks. He also played in New Zealand for the Taradale softball club where he was team MVP and league batting champion. He resides in Santee, California.
Jerry Santos (jerrysantos66@hotmail.com) a native of Pueblo, Colorado, comes from a fastball family. He began playing youth fastball at age eight and played in three ASA youth national tournaments. Fifteen years ago, he and his brothers, Chris and Mike, formed the Pueblo Bandits. He is a veteran of eight ISC World Tournaments as a catcher.
Vice President Chris Santos welcomed these two men into the official ISC family noting that "their experience as players at all levels of the game will allow them to bring a strong voice to the emerging player representative group." Santos also praised the work done by the two men whom Owens and Santos are replacing - - Cliff Wisdom and Carlos Armijo - - who recently resigned from the position of player reps.
